Do you like taking baths? Bathing is a great way to relax and unwind after a long day. Not only is it cheap, but it is also an easy way to pamper yourself. One way you can make bathing even more special and beneficial is by adding essential oil bath salts.Â
Try this Pretty in Pink Essential Oil Bath Salt recipe. It is made with pink Himalayan salt. Before we get to the recipe, let's take a look at what makes Pink Himalayan salt so special.
Why Use Pink Himalayan Salt?
Bath salts can have a relaxing and stress relieving effect on your body. Salts can also help to detoxify the body and soothe muscle aches and pains.Â
Pink Himalayan salt is rich in minerals, making it one of the best salts to soak in. Soaking in it allows the body to absorb the minerals from the water (called dermal absorption).
You can use whatever grain size you have on hand, I tend to have the fine grain because that is what I use in place of table salt (it really tastes so much better). It also dissolves fast in warm bath water so I like that too, but you can use a large grain for bathing.
Essential Oils for Bath Salts
This essential oil bath salt recipe is just what you need, it will leave your skin refreshed, clean and pampered. With a blend of pink salt, Grapefruit and Ylang Ylang essential oils, it is sure to become a bath time necessity.
Once bath salts are added to water, the fragrance of the essential oils will be released into the steam. So not only will you get the benefits of soaking in the oil and salt but also the benefits of aromatherapy.
As you breathe in the essential oil bath salt aroma, your worries will melt away.
Grapefruit essential oil is known for removing toxins from the body and keeping the skin clean and fresh. Read more about the benefits and uses of grapefruit.

Essential Oil Recipe Tips
This recipes makes enough bath salt for about 2-3 bath soaks, depending on how much salt is added to bath.
I like to use fractionated coconut oil for my bath salts but you can use your preferred carrier oil instead.
A nice, relaxing bath may not always be possible. A foot soak can be a great alternative. If you want to use this recipe for a foot bath, use 1-2 tablespoons in a foot basin of warm water.
