Love sugar scrubs but wanting it in a soap form? Try this recipe that combines the gentle exfoliating of sugar scrubs, the cleansing proprieties of bar soap and the aroma of essential oils. What a combination huh!
I like to use heart shape molds for these soaps because they are really cute for gift giving, especially Mother's Day or Valentine's Days. You can use any soap mold to get the desired shape you prefer.
We added fractionated coconut oil and vitamin E oil for a skin moisturizing punch. So you are exfoliating, moisturizing and cleansing at the same time as well as enjoying some aromatherapy!

- 1/2 pound Clear Glycerin Soap
- 1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 1/8 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon Pink Mica Powder
- 30 drops of Essential Oils
- Heart Shaped Silicone Molds
- Silicone Spatula
- Glass Measuring Cup (size 4 cups)
Step One:
Gather all ingredients so you are ready to make exfoliating soap bars.
Step Two:
Cut glycerin soap into cubes and add to glass measuring cup. 1/2 pound equaled 10 cubes when cut up. This is the melt and pour soap I used. Place in pan with 2 inches of boiling water.
Step Three:
Heat until soap is completely melted.
Step Four:
Turn off heat but keep in hot water, add 1/4 cup fractionated coconut oil.
Step Five:
Add a few drops of vitamin E oil (approximately 1/8 teaspoon).
Step Six:
Add 1 cup of sugar and mix well with spatula.
Step Seven:
Add pink mica powder and stir well until blended.
Step Eight:
Add essential oils, we used 15 drops of peppermint and 15 drops of orange essential oil but you can use any essential oils you desire.
Step Nine:
Pour into soap molds, divided evenly between 6 molds. Set molds aside and let cool for about 1-2 hours.
Step Ten:
Pop out of molds. All ready to use!
