If you're like me, you have a ton of empty essential oil bottles lying around. Instead of just throwing them away or placing them in the recycle bin, why not repurpose them into DIY roll ons? They're a great way to keep your favorite essential oils close at hand wherever you go! Plus, they're super easy to make. All you need is an empty essential oil bottle, roller top, some carrier oil, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Keep reading for instructions on how to make your own DIY roll ons.

How to Make DIY Roll Ons From Empty Essential Oil Bottles by Loving Essential Oils

Do you save your old oil bottles? If not, I encourage you to start. There are many uses for empty essential oil bottles. One way I like to use them is as DIY Roll ons.

After an oil bottle is emptied, there is still usually a little bit of oil left in the bottle that won't drip out. Don't let that oil go to waste! You can choose to use the bottle with the oil residual in it (without cleaning) or get the oil out and clean the bottle before transforming it into a roll on.

There's nothing quite like the invigorating scent of essential oils. But when your favorite oil runs out, it can be tough to know what to do with the empty bottle. Here are a few quick tips for empty essential oil bottles.

Do I Need to Clean My Used Essential Oil Bottles?

If the oil in your empty oil bottle is a scent that you want to keep using then there is no need to even clean the bottle, you can just add the essential oils and carrier oils to the reusable roller bottle without the extra steps of cleaning.

If you want to remove the scent the you can wash the essential oil bottles with hot, soapy water.

How to Use the Leftover Oil in Your Empty Bottle

If you opt to clean your empty essential oil bottle first, before cleaning it, here is an easy way to use the oil residue left in it.

First, remove the orifice reducer, then fill the empty bottle with water. Place lid on and shake well. Remove lid and pour the oil scented water into your diffuser. Add additional oils and water as needed to your diffuser, turn it on.

Now your oil bottle is ready to clean and no oil will be wasted!

How to Clean my Empty Essential Oil Bottle

Soak your empty bottles in hot soapy water. Rinse well with warm water and let thoroughly dry. You do not want any water or moisture in your essential oil roller blends as this can create an opportunity for bacterial growth.

Regular roller bottle tops will not fit on essential oil bottles, they are too small. We currently have some roll on tops made especially for essential oil bottles.
