Benefits of Bath Oil for Skin Care
Essential oils are often used for aromatherapy and to improve moods, but they can also be used in bath water. You can use them with a carrier oil to help relax your mind and body. Bath time is a favorite way to unwind after a long day at work!
Pamper your skin and soothe your soul with this indulging bathtub treatment. The base oil helps to moisturize and make skin smoother. It can also soothe dry, itchy skin. You can use a variety of carrier oils for the base oil. I like fractionated coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and jojoba oil.
Essential oils are perfect for aromatherapy bath oil and there are many fragrance options. Your senses will enjoy the bath soak as the warm water and bath oil revives and calms your body.
Essential oils and water do not mix, so that is why it is best to use bath oil with essential oils as opposed to just essential oils in bath water. The carrier oil will dilute the essential oils to prevent skin irritation and fast evaporation.

Close the door before you add in bath oil to keep the aroma around you. Take caution when entering and exiting bath as tub may be slippery from oils. You can also use these bath oils as body oil, just massage into skin.
For kids and pregnant women, use 12 drops of essential oils (1% dilution level using a 2 oz recipe). Also be sure to verify that the oils you are using in your bath oil are safe for kids or pregnancy.
These bath oils will keep up to one year in colored glass bottles, depending on the expiration of ingredients used. If any ingredient used in bath oil expire before one year, that expiration date should be used. Keep your oils lasting longer but storing them in a cool, dark place.
