3 Natural Products That Will Transform Your Beauty Routine
Let’s take a closer look at the beautiful powers of apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, and baking soda:
Apple Cider Vinegar
BUY: Raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized, and unheated ACV (apple cider vinegar), such as Bragg’s
WHY? Reduces and minimizes having to use standard products that are full of health-harming chemicals.
USES FOR APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:
Hair Rinse - Use 1 cup of water and ½ tablespoon of ACV as a shine inducing hair rinse. It helps remove dirt and oils and leaves your hair clean and silky smooth.
Skin Toner - Dip a cotton ball in 1 part ACV to 2 parts water and dab on your face and skin. It helps reduce scars and age spots.
Natural Energy Drink - Mix 2 tablespoons ACV with a glass of filtered water and drink each morning. Has a detoxing and energizing effect!
Coconut Oil
BUY: Unrefined, cold-pressed, organic, and virgin coconut oil
WHY? Has medicinal properties (thanks to the fatty acids) and can help kill bacteria and fungus (thanks to the lauric acid)
USES FOR COCONUT OIL:
Makeup Remover - A gentle and effective way to remove eye makeup. Use a cotton pad to gently rub off makeup.
Energizer - Blend 1-2 tablespoons into your morning coffee for a boost in both your brain function and your energy!
Dental Detox - Place a tablespoon of oil in your mouth and swish in and out of your teel (referred to as oil pulling). Will help remove toxins. Swish for 15-20 minutes and then spit the oil in the trash.
Moisturizer - Get silky smooth skin by rubbing coconut oil on your face and body (great for hair conditioning too!)
Baking Soda
BUY: Make sure you buy PURE baking soda
WHY? It costs less than a few dollars, yet can replace a wide range of beauty products (and it’s readily available too!).
USES FOR BAKING SODA:
Toothpaste - Mix baking soda with coconut oil and peppermint essential oil to create a paste (no measuring required - just combine ingredients until you reach your desired consistency).
Exfoliant - Scoop some baking soda in your hands while in the shower and add a bit of water. Gently scrub your face and body for gentle exfoliation.
Deodorant - To keep body odors at bay, mix a teaspoon of baking soda with water to create a paste. Rub under your arms for a natural deodorant (add your favorite essential oil if desired).
Hair Cleanser - Massage baking soda mixed with water onto your scalp and hair to help remove build-up. Follow up with a rinse of apple cider vinegar for super clean and shiny hair!
Skin Soother - A simple paste of baking soda and water can be used to help soothe sunburn, bug bites, rashes, and poison ivy. Dab the paste onto your skin using a cotton ball and allow to dry.
